The Tumen Ekh Ensemble was founded in 1989 with the mission to showcase traditional Mongolian arts and the country's cultural heritage to both local and international audiences. The ensemble has won numerous awards worldwide and is renowned for the quality of its performances, which blend professional excellence with deep respect for authentic Mongolian traditions.

The ensemble brings together a diverse array of artists representing multiple art forms: Mongolian vocal traditions, instrumental music, and dance. You will experience:

• Concerts featuring traditional instruments, including the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle);
• Traditional vocal performances, including long songs, epic narratives, and celebratory chants;
• Dance spectacles, including the shamanic ritual dance, an ancient palace dance, and the masked dance known as tsam.

Mongolian music expresses vast landscapes, freedom, and harmony with nature. The Tumen Ekh Ensemble stands as one of the most effective cultural ambassadors for sharing traditional Mongolian music with the world. The ensemble has toured more than 40 countries, introducing Mongolia's unique, dynamic, and captivating arts to international audiences. They have performed at the World Music Center in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and Buckingham Palace in the United Kingdom.

Getting There

The Tumen Ekh Ensemble performs in a small theater located approximately 500 meters south of Genghis Khan Square. Walk toward the Peace Bridge. Just before crossing the bridge, turn left. Ten meters further on, pass under the archway on your left. You'll enter a large courtyard, and the theater is immediately on your left.

During summer, performances run daily from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. In winter, unfortunately, performances are less frequent and somewhat irregular.
