Nowadays, there are 250 falconers in the province of Bayan Olgii. They're Kazakhs who perpetuate the traditional technics of equestrian hunting with a golden eagle trained all year long.
The hunter's moon is held from October to March. Aside from this period, it's not possible to go in the mountains with the hunter. Nevertheless, when you'll come in the area, you'll have the opportunity to meet a falconer. He's very proud of his eagle and will show it to you. He'll probably give a demonstration of his art with a shirga, lure made of fox skin traditionally used to train the eagle.
Wearing a leather glove, you will carry the eagle on your arm and immortalize this astonishing meeting.
