A thrilling and distinctive way to discover Mongolia, rafting allows you to take time to observe its stunning landscapes and captivating culture.

For water enthusiasts, Mongolia represents an El Dorado, with its pristine and tumultuous waters.

During the summer season, nomads set up their seasonal camps on the riverbanks. From your raft, you'll have ample opportunity to observe their daily life unfolding before your eyes. While paddling, you'll encounter herds of animals sharing the waterway with you, raptors soaring overhead, and the entire aquatic ecosystem. Intrigued nomads won't hesitate to stop and chat with you—it's common to be invited into a ger.

In Mongolia, the rafting season is brief, spanning just four months from June through September. Temperatures vary depending on your expedition location, ranging from warm to refreshingly cool. Notably, summer marks the rainy season in central Mongolia.

Beginners can enjoy short trips lasting one to three days on the Tuul River in Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, just two hours' drive from the capital.

For those wanting to center their journey around rafting, we offer 10 to 14-day expeditions on the Orkhon and Chuluut rivers in Arkhangai, the Eg River in Khövgöl Province, and the Yeroo River in Khentii. These programs deliver numerous challenges, featuring rapids and easier sections alike. Prior rafting experience, solid physical fitness, and a willingness to get wet are essential.

The varying difficulty of different rapids will influence the duration of each stage and ultimately your entire itinerary. Keep in mind that water currents and river levels fluctuate depending on snowmelt conditions.

During your rafting expeditions, we'll provide you with a waterproof bag for your daily essentials and a life jacket. Your main luggage will travel in the logistics vehicle, which will meet you at each stage. An English-speaking Mongolian guide trained in whitewater activities and intimately familiar with the region will lead your adventure.
