Setting out on a bike trekking adventure across Mongolia's trails is an exceptional way to discover all the splendours of Mongolian nature and explore the most remote regions of the country. More than just a means of transport, your bicycle becomes a powerful tool for connection with the nomadic communities you'll inevitably encounter during your trek—people who are invariably eager to see you pedalling through the steppes and mountains of their homeland.
The very nature of this activity, with its unhurried pace, allows you to take in every natural wonder the country has to offer and camp near nomadic settlements where you can share moments of genuine exchange with your hosts.
For mountain bike enthusiasts, be aware that Mongolia has very few single-track trails, and our trekking routes are primarily conducted on established tracks that can be rough, muddy, and rocky. While Mongolia has a reputation for being a flat country, you'll quickly discover otherwise—expect long sections of gentle climbing, mountain passes, and some more technical descents. River crossings are a regular feature of the terrain as you navigate the numerous waterways that crisscross the country.
During your journey, you can undertake bike treks lasting one or two days, covering modest distances of 30 to 40 km. These treks remain accessible to anyone in reasonable physical condition.
For cyclists seeking a fully immersive mountain biking circuit, daily distances can reach up to 65 km. In these cases, you'll benefit from the guidance of a professional bike guide, with a support vehicle accompanying you throughout each stage of your expedition.
