Khangai is one of the sums of Arkhangai Province, founded in 1931, covering an area of 4,400 km². It comprises six villages (Ar Bayasgalan, Noyon Khangaï, Terkh, Chandmani, Bayan-Ulaan, Gichgene). Located in the most mountainous part of Arkhangai, much of the Noyon Khangai nature reserve sits within the sum's territory. The mountain ranges include Tsagaan Asgat, Tsakhir Khairkhan, Teel, Terkh and Gichgene. Numerous rivers and mountain torrents traverse this isolated and seldom-visited region. At over 3,000 metres elevation, you'll find a rare flower, the "Snow Lotus", as well as wolves and numerous bird species: eagles, cranes, ducks, bearded vultures, swans, partridges, and more.

We partner with several families from the Ar Arvijin Delgerekh yak herders cooperative who offer intimate group experiences to discover the various activities linked to yak herding, as well as other nomadic pursuits.
