The rock formations of Tsagaan Suvarga, the "white stupa", are located in the southwest of Ölziit soum, on the southern border of Dundgovi province.

Wind-sculpted and deeply eroded, these rock formations resemble a ruined city when viewed from a distance (85 km away). They rise approximately 60 meters high and stretch for 400 meters in length. Composed of various minerals, they display a spectacular palette of colors once exposed to oxygen: rocks range from pink to deep red and vibrant orange. In early summer, when the grass turns green and wildflowers bloom across the steppe, the site transforms into a rainbow on earth—a photographer's dream come true. n What makes Tsagaan Suvarga truly remarkable is its geological history. Millions of years ago, an ancient ocean covered this landscape. Today, traces of that marine world persist as fossils embedded in the rock face.

Southwest of Tsagaan Suvarga stands another formation, Ulaan Suvarga, the "red stupa", featuring an identical structure and equally striking coloration.

Allow at least one hour of hiking to reach the summit of the cliffs.
