Day 2Mystic stay in the surroundings of the Shambala

  • Early arrival in Saishand.

Visit of Khamar Monastery. The famous Mongolian teacher and man of letters Danzanravjaa created this monastery in the 1820's. It was an important centre of the Buddhist "red sect".

  • In the afternoon we go to Bayanzurkh mountain. Culminating at 1031 meters, this small 1031 massif is also a high place of veneration for the Mongols. The 3rd greatest lama of the Gobi, Jamiyandanzan, was buried there and many temples were erected in his memory.

A path dotted with Stupas and Ovoos leads to the summit from where we will have a 360 degree view of the Sainshand region.

  • Arrival at a family of camel breeders with whom we will discover Mongolian hospitality and with whom we will spend the night.
