Dornogovi Province is situated in the southeastern part of the country and shares a border with China to the south.
This vast territory is a semi-arid zone, characterized by hard, sandy soils.
Dornogovi is renowned throughout Mongolie for the medicinal herbs that flourish on its lands, including licorice and Chinese dodder, as well as perennial species such as wild leeks, willows, elms, and Mongolian chives.
Wild horses and sheep, ibex, black-tailed antelope and white antelope, as well as lynx inhabit the region. Numerous bird species can also be found there, including the lammergeier, golden eagle, and great bustard. These species may be spotted in the Otsol, Sansara, Ikhe and Baga Dulaan, Argalant, Khorgo, and Budryn Uul hills, as well as in the Tuulait and Tariachin steppes, in the Gurban Bayan, Unegt, and Tughum basins, and in the vast semi-arid zones of Bulaan Saaral, Gurvan Khashaat, Khonich, Burdene Uul, and Dalai Bumbat.
The industrial base consists of 7 large enterprises and 50 small to medium-sized businesses in the mining, agribusiness, and construction sectors.
