Choisir un voyage axé sur la culture et les traditions en Mongolie, c'est accepter de loger sous la yourte, partager le thé salé au lait et caler son rythme sur celui des troupeaux. Cette intention change tout : l'itinéraire suit les campements nomades plutôt que les sites touristiques, et chaque étape devient une rencontre.

Le quotidien des familles nomades reste le fil conducteur. Près de 25% des Mongols vivent encore de l'élevage extensif, déplaçant leurs ger deux à quatre fois par an selon les pâturages. Nos équipes basées à Oulan-Bator sélectionnent des familles partenaires dans les steppes centrales et la vallée de l'Orkhon, où vous apprendrez à traire les juments, préparer l'airag fermenté ou monter à cheval comme un cavalier de la steppe.

La dimension spirituelle complète ce tableau. Le bouddhisme tibétain, réintroduit après la chute du régime soviétique en 1990, cohabite avec un chamanisme ancien toujours vivace. Quelques étapes structurent souvent un circuit culturel :

  • Le monastère d'Erdene Zuu à Karakorum, fondé en 1586 sur les ruines de l'ancienne capitale impériale
  • Une cérémonie chamanique dans le nord, près du lac Khövsgöl
  • Le festival du Naadam en juillet, avec lutte, tir à l'arc et course de chevaux
  • Une visite du musée de Gengis Khan, ouvert à Oulan-Bator en 2022
