The Eej Khairkhan mountain is part of the Altai range and rises to 2,275 meters in elevation north of the strictly protected Gobi zone, in Govi-Altai province, Tsogt sum. Since 1992, the State has designated this 22,475-hectare area as a Natural Reserve, making the region officially protected.

The granite formations of Eej Khairkhan are sacred and revered by local inhabitants, who believe the mountain protects their children. What makes these rock formations unique is a cascade flowing down the stone and emptying into nine natural "stone basins" ranging from 2 to 4 meters in diameter. The fourth basin is the most impressive, reaching a depth of 4 meters. Numerous paintings of ibex, horsemen, and archers can be observed on the rocks.

On site, you will also see the hermit's cave decorated with Buddhist statues, as well as a boulder shaped like an altar venerated by locals.
