Marking the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolie and South Korea, the two nations are set to streamline their respective visa regulations.

D. Demberel, President of the Great Khural (Parliament of Mongolie), visited South Korea this week to meet with government representatives. On February 25, he held meetings with Kim Hyong-O, President of the South Korean National Assembly, and Chung Un-chan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, with the aim of strengthening commercial and economic ties between South Korea and Mongolie.

During his meeting with Kim Hyong-O, Demberel affirmed that Mongolie's highest legislative body is fully committed to creating a favorable legal environment for major foreign investors. He emphasized that a consortium of South Korean companies has expressed interest in bidding for the exploitation of the Tavan Tolgoi coal mine.

Furthermore, South Korea has agreed to provide 13 million dollars in humanitarian aid to the population affected by dzud in Mongolie. Mongolie established diplomatic relations with South Korea in March 1990.
