Ger camps are the most comfortable option when traveling across the steppe. These are countryside 'hotels' where the ger serves as your bedroom. You'll find a restaurant serving Mongolian and Asian-inspired cuisine, sanitary facilities with Western-style toilets and showers. Not all camps offer the same level of service—some are more luxurious while others are more basic—but all are carefully selected for specific reasons (comfort, location, exceptional setting, and so on). It's entirely possible to plan circuits that stay exclusively in ger camps for those seeking to travel with a good level of comfort. Prices range from $40 to several hundred dollars for the most upscale establishments.

Please note: Mongolia is a young destination in terms of tourism, and although the comfort level in ger camps has improved significantly in recent years, service standards can sometimes fall short. Mongolians will always do their best to help you find solutions, but certain menu items may be unavailable, the massage therapist might be absent, the computer out of service, and so forth.
