March 10, 2010

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the International Organization of French-speaking Countries.

For this occasion, the English-speaking television channel TV5 Monde and the association ART GENESIS organized cultural events across Mongolia, China, and Hong Kong centered around film and advance screenings of works from the French-speaking world.

In Mongolia, the French film festival will take place at Tengis Cinema from March 25 to 30, 2010. "The Man at the Bedside," directed by young French filmmaker Alain Monne and screened on March 9, marked the festival's opening.

Renowned French actors Christophe Lambert and Sophie Marceau visited Ulaanbaatar to promote the festival and participated in the opening ceremony, introducing the film "The Man at the Bedside," in which they play the two leading roles.

Following this screening, the French Embassy and the Alliance française in Mongolia hosted a cocktail reception in honor of the two stars. They were able to attend a traditional Mongolian clothing parade, an Altan Urag concert, a contortionist demonstration, and more. The travel agency Horseback Mongolia was a partner of this event.
