Its position makes it a coherent logistical base for exploring this sparsely populated stretch of southern Mongolia, where nomadic herders are few and far between, and distances between water sources grow longer.

You lodge in a traditional ger, within the mineral aridity of the Gobi. The camp lines up 25 furnished gers in an open desert landscape, where silence and the thermal swing between day and night echo the harshness of the south Mongolian steppe. The atmosphere is sober, without decorative flourishes: you come here for the desert light, the sunsets over ochre cliffs and the starry sky, not for the furnishings.

Location and access
The camp is located in Bulgan soum, Ömnögovi province, roughly 80 km from Gurvan Saikhan airport near Dalanzadgad. Allow over an hour on rough track from the airport in a 4x4 vehicle; track conditions vary significantly by season. Dalanzadgad is connected to Ulaanbaatar by daily domestic flights in high season, or by around two days of road travel via Gobi tracks.
What to see and do in the area
Beyond the Bayanzag cliffs, the region contains several emblematic Gobi sites accessible on day excursions or as the next stage of your journey: Yolyn Am valley and its summer ice tongues, the singing sands of Khongoryn Els further west, and the rocky massifs of Gurvan Saikhan national park.
