Trekking, glaciers and Khoton nomads: discover everything about Kharkhiraa Mountain, a wild gem of western Mongolie in Uvs province.

Kharkhiraa Mountain is part of the Turgen Uul mountain range, which belongs to Uvs Lake National Park.

With an average elevation of 3,400 metres, Kharkhiraa extends for 100 kilometres toward the south. Tsagaan Shuvuut is its highest peak, reaching 4,037 metres, making it and Mount Turgen the two highest summits in the region.

Three rivers originate in the mountain, flowing primarily from glacial melt.

During the summer season, the site is ideal for hiking and horseback trekking. The presence of Khoton nomads with their herds adds to the region's charm, set against an exceptional landscape where high peaks are snow-capped, overlooking alpine tundra dotted with verdant grasslands. You can also observe rare animal species here, including snow leopards, argali wild sheep, and ibex.
