Tsambagarav National Park
Glaciers at 4,000 m, snow leopards and Kazakh eagle hunters: Tsambagarav National Park, a hidden gem of western Mongolie.
Tsambagarav National Park is located in Bayan-Ölgii province in the far west of Mongolie. It was established in 2000 and covers an area of 1,110 km² in a glacial region encompassing the Tsambagarav Mountains. The two peaks of this mountain range are "Tsast Uul", "the snowy summit" (4,193 metres), and Tsambagarav (4,165 metres). They are of course covered with eternal snow and can be approached during a magnificent trek at the foot of the glaciers.
These mountains are home to rich wildlife, notably hosting a significant population of snow leopards.
