03 Jan. 2015As it does every year, a large part of the Horseback family gathered together to celebrate the new year. This year's celebration took place on December 19th at the Tuul Restaurant in downtown Ulaanbaatar. We were 86 people in total, and we were proud to welcome numerous nomadic families who made the journey especially for the occasion. Among our guests were Boldoo (Orkhon Valley), Tsagaanai (Naiman Nuur), Byamba (Khongor Dunes), Oyunsuren (Yol Canyon), Boldo (Terelj), Batbold (Terkhiin Tsagaan family), and Batchuluun (Khustai).

The evening featured a wonderful meal, plenty of vodka, entertainment, dancing, a grand raffle with numerous prizes, and of course the presentation of awards for the company's best employees of the year.

It's worth noting that this year, the Mongolia Ministry of Tourism chose to honor 4 of our employees with medals and the title of best employee in the country's tourism industry. The 2014 award winners are:

• Oyuntsetseg, known as Oyunaa: Best Guide
• Nyamkhuu, known as Mina: Best Guide
• Naidandorj, known as Naidan or the Boss: Best Driver
• Yadamsuren, known as Yadmaa: Best Driver

And as it does each year, Horseback chose to recognize certain team members who distinguished themselves this year through their professionalism and good spirit:

• Nasanjargal, known as Nasaa: Best Guide
• Bayarbat, known as Jijgee: Best Guide
• Davaasuren: Best Driver
• Khishigbat, known as Khishgee: Best Driver
• Oyun, known as Oyunaa: Best Cook

Horseback also wished to honor two of its partner families who proved exceptionally welcoming and were unanimously appreciated by travelers:

• The family of Renchindorj, known as Tsagaanaa, the family who welcomed or will welcome you in the Eight Lakes region
• The family of Batbold, who welcomed or will welcome you near Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan.

The evening concluded in high spirits at our offices, where the most enthusiastic continued singing and celebrating well into the next morning.
